Can you transition an older, barn cat to an indoor cat?

I've actually done this, but it takes quite a bit of patience and does depend somewhat on that cat and if they are friendly around people or wild. Try to start slowly and bring them inside for short periods of time and then let them go back outside. Letting them set the rules as you go. You may never get them to be strictly indoor cats, but with time and gaining their trust slowly you can convince them that inside the house is better than outside in the barn.
