Meet a happy dog named Max in this AVMA-produced video highlighting the importance of checking your pets microchip information. August 15th 2015 is National Check The Chip Day.
Microchips significantly increase the chance of being able to find your pet if they are lost or stolen. We encourage all pet parents to have their pet microchipped and, if they already are, please use this date to check the information you have stored on there to make sure it is accurate.
Share the video above to remind your friends to check their pets' microchip information too...
To update your pet’s microchip information you will need your pet’s microchip number.
There are many databases that you can use to register your pet's microchip, but the most important is the AAHA’s Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool. This is the database that veterinarians and animal shelters will use to trace a pet's family.
