Does the discovery of a single flea mean that an outbreak is looming?
We recently had to find another home for our dog (he was showing signs of aggression towards our toddlers). We just discovered a flea around there are where he loved to sleep. Reason to panic?
Not necessarily reason to panic, but definitely reason to do something about it. Where there is one flea, there are usually others in the intermediate life stages - eggs, larvae and pupae. These are in the ground or in your carpet if your dog lived indoors with you. To get rid of these indoors, vacuum your carpets thoroughly and use a fogger that contains an insect growth regulator as well as an adult flea killer. The IGR will affect the immature stages of the flea and prevent them developing into adults. Keeping your grass short and tidy will help to control them in your yard. This should be enough to protect you from further infestation especially since you no longer have a pet at home. | 10.29.15 @ 23:08
