How do you help a dog get over a food issue?

Dog attempts to steal food from kids and table even though she's well fed. Possibly had dogs stealing her food before we rescued her.

I have a rescue pup who had food aggression issues. Basically, I became the alpha dog. If she got aggressive I basically got in between her and her food bowl. I'd stomp my feet and refuse to give her a path to her bowl until she was physically calm. Then I hand-fed her. If I heard her begin to growl or her muscles tighten up, I would stand up and do it all over again. She finally realized her bad behavior was keeping her bowl away. It's been peaceful ever since. Maybe you can do the same exercise until she learns it's a no-no. The other option is to crate her while everyone eats. Good Luck! | 10.02.15 @ 05:37
