There is quite a bit of variation in cat weights. They range from 7-8lbs for the domestic cat to as much as 20lbs for the bigger Maine Coone and Norwegian Forest cats.

When considering what a healthy weight for a cat is, it’s more useful to look at body condition score rather than the numbers on a scale. Body condition is scored from 1 to 9, with 1 being extremely underweight and 9 being obese. Healthy cats have a score of 4-5. You should be able to feel their ribs easily, there should be a noticeable narrowing of the tummy just after their ribs and no fat pat over their abdomen.
