My Chihuahua throws up for seemingly no reason at least twice a month. Is it the dry food we feed her or something external?

Alec, it could be either of these or something else completely. Some dogs do have issues with their food and they can improve on a hypoallergenic hydrolyzed diet. Is your dog up to date with worming? There is a stomach worm that can cause intermittent vomiting and it’s not killed by routine worming products. Your vet will be able to advise on what to use to control it. Bilious syndrome is characterised by vomiting of bile in the mornings and it seems to be associated with a long period of time without food. A small meal late at night can help. My suggestion to you would be to visit your vet for a full check-up including baseline blood and urine tests to check for internal disease, and then go from there depending on what shows up on the tests. Chronic vomiting that frequently isn’t necessarily normal so do get your pup checked out. | 11.09.15 @ 08:49
