Our dog has become very lethargic in the last month. No change in diet, just tired and almost mopey. Any suggestions?
Steffanie, there is a long list of possibilities here. If your dog is elderly their organs may be slowing down; for example heart disease can present with these symptoms. Another possible cause is arthritis or other type of pain where it’s not comfortable to move around. If they have worms then they may have a touch of anemia so there’s not enough oxygen being carried around their body so they feel slow and tired. All of these can be managed so your dog feels better but first you need to work out what’s responsible your dog’s mopiness.
As you can see, those symptoms alone don’t really give much of a clue as to their cause. This means a trip to your vet for an exam and you may find they will suggest blood tests to check their blood count and how well their liver and kidneys are working. | 07.19.16 @ 00:45
