Pet parents, listen up; are you considering a move to a new state or city, but haven’t quite decided where you’re headed? Are you worried about choosing a new home that will suit your family and your canine companion/s? Worry no more, as we may just have the answer to your relocation worries.
The Huffington Post recently shared the results of a study compiled by financial consulting company SmartAsset, which aimed to find the most dog-friendly cities in the U.S. by comparing the number of dog-friendly parks and venues, the general quality of life on offer, and factors such as weather and housing costs; everything your furriest of friends might need in order to lead a happy and fulfilled life, with you by their side as always. So, if you’re in search of a new home, where should you be looking? Here’s that top ten in full.
1. San Francisco: Sunshine, plenty of parks, and more than a handful of dog-friendly eateries and recreational venues led to San Francisco being crowned the country’s most dog-friendly city.
If San Fran isn’t your kind of place, perhaps one of the other nine cities will be.
2. Las Vegas
4. San Diego
10. New York City
We’re particularly excited to see Las Vegas, New York City, and San Diego on this list, but never doubted Denver’s chances; talk about incredible walks in those mountains!
How interesting that seven of the top ten are located towards the west – what does this tell us about dog companionship on that side of the country?! What do you think of this top ten? Do you agree or disagree with any entries? Perhaps you feel your city should have been included. We’d love to hear from you all regarding this research!
