Massachusetts tops the list with over 130,000 cases of tick-borne illnesses reported in the last several years. That said, pets that are going to travel to this state will need a hearty dose of tick-prevention medicine beforehand.
Protecting Your Pets from Fleas and Ticks
While you can’t make contact with fleas and ticks impossible, you can take steps to protect your pet. First, pets should be kept out of undergrowth and overgrowth, as these are favorite places for ticks to lay in wait. For extra protection, consult your vet about prescription flea and tick treatment.
